With Prestige Car Imports you can import your dream car from Japan. For us to begin the search we require a deposit of $1190 AUD. The total fee we charge will depend on the vehicles final landed and complied price.

Please note, we can help buy from dealers in Japan also. We are in the dealer network and can get wholesale pricing. If you are wanting a dealer vehicle or have found a link on goonet, beforward etc, please send it through.

In Japan we can only see the vehicles coming up a few days in advance. Different vehicles come up every day, every week. We cannot just show you photos or info as there will be different cars tomorrow and the day after that and so on. Vehicles at Japan Auctions only come up for about 30 seconds so we need to set a max budget and stick to it. It is not like Ebay, Collectingcars etc where you have 7 days to bid, the vehicles only come up on one day and are only live for 30 seconds.

There are two ways that we can begin the process:

1 – Pay the deposit fee of $1190. The fee is not refundable, so please be ready to begin the process 100%. The deposit fee lasts forever, so once paid we can begin inspecting any vehicle you would like. The balance of the fee is due once we win the car. We will search each night for your chosen vehicle and send you the ones coming up.

2 – Sign up to our Japan auction system, pay $15 per month or $150 per year and when you have found something you like, pay the $1190 non refundable deposit fee and we can have it inspected for you and try to win it.

Our total fee ranges from $1190 – $9990 AUD and is based on the landed and complied price of the vehicle. We have discounted fees for repeat clients or for multiple purchases.

Under 30k = $1190 AUD

30-60k = $1490 AUD

60-90k = $1990 AUD

90k+ = Case by case basis, max $9990 AUD for vehicles over $200,000 AUD landed and complied.

If you decide to pay the deposit of $1190 today you will get full access to the auction system without the monthly/yearly charge. You just need to let me know if you want to search for the vehicle using our system, or if you want me to search and send you what is coming up. You then let me know what you like the look of and I have my team on the ground in Japan view the vehicle in person.

They will send me a full report on the condition and let me know of any modifications and issues the vehicle may have. I send this to you and I let you know how much I think we will need to win that one. You can decide to cancel any vehicle that we had viewed and didn’t come back to meet our expectation, there is no fee for this. We can inspect an infinite number of cars for you.

Once we win, the vehicle payment will be due to the auction house in Japan. Generally I have my clients send me the funds and I handle the currency transfer however you are welcome to do this if you prefer and have an FX account setup.

We then book shipping, it takes 2-3 weeks for shipping to be confirmed and booked in, the vehicle generally leaves Japan within 4-8 weeks.

Once on the boat it takes around 3-4 weeks to arrive. Once it is about to arrive in Australia the GST, gov fees, customs and shipping is due. I then organise the transport to compliance, once finished at compliance payment is due.

In total it takes around 12-16 weeks for the vehicle to be road ready in Australia.

Payments are made in stages

Today – Pay Deposit ($1190) or sign up to auction system

Win Car – Pay for car in Japan (pay balance of our fee if needed)

8-10 weeks – pay shipping, gst, customs one week before car arrives

12-16 weeks – pay compliance, roadworthy, rego and stamp duty

There are no auctions on Sundays and hardly any cars on Mondays. Tuesday – Saturday are the busiest days.

Any pricing quoted is an estimate only, the costs generally excluded are state specific on road costs such as roadworthy/blueslip/pits, registration and stamp/transfer duty to put into your name. These costs vary from state to state.
